The Toyota Landcruiser presents a easily converted vehicle due to the size of the vehicle, the engine capacity and the space available for needed components. For either a drive shaft driven of hydraulic powered air compressor to be installed, a suitable power range from the vehicle is required. The Toyota Landcrusier is one of the easier vehicles to have the equipment installed into. The system utilises what is known as the PTO, Power Take Off. The Toyota Landcrusier has an FPTO, Full Power take Off.
Toyota Landcrusier has the engine power and tray size to make this style of vehicle perfect for a shaft drive air compressor and an air powered vacuum system installed on the tray. The FPTO utilizes a dog clutch mounted to the rear of the transfer case Operation of the FPTO is as described below,
